Sharing with you some snaps from our Boracay trip last summer...

If you were to ask me to list down my top 5 beaches in the Philippines, Boracay won't be part of that list. You may think I'm being nonsensical but I never had the same fascination and love for Boracay like others do. I will admit that it is a beautiful island, especially with its creamy sand and turquoise waters. I wouldn't mind spending a few days there as well (which is what I did when a friend came home from overseas for a summer break) but it wouldn't be a top choice if I were to think of a perfect summer destination. I guess I just find Boracay too crowded and well, overrated. Needless to say, I did enjoy my 4-days stay there. We were lucky to visit the island right after 'lumot' (algae) season (haha!) and got to enjoy its clear waters. We spent an afternoon in Spider House at Diniwid Beach, walked a lot along White Beach, ate non-stop and chased the sunset every day. I did get a nasty send-off from Boracay though -- a stomach flu care of a few pieces of street food. Ugh.

Maybe in time I will grow fond of Boracay. Let's see. But for now, I'll be happy to explore the other amazing beaches in our country.

What's your favorite go-to beach in the Philippines? Let me know! :)
